For those who are curious about this new creature of mind, flesh, blood, community, and collaboration coming into being we have prepared a few introductory notes while our website is under construction.
One Health Partners is a federally incorporated not for profit community health and social service organization based at the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto, Canada. We operate at the intersection of animal welfare, human healthcare, education, and social services. We have a community service division led by our flagship therapy dog program, an innovation lab for research and developing pilot projects and an education division.
We are excited to share that One Health Partners' therapy dog program, Paws to Care is now operational and growing in Toronto. The two pillars of OHP’s therapy dog program are therapy dog supported literacy and learning and mental health and well-being. We are honoured to be partnering with many great organizations and communities to make a difference. Our partners include Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Emily’s House, the Native Womens' Resource Centre in Toronto, The Children's Bookbank, Children's Aid Foundation of Canada, Claremont Elementary School, Mooredale Preschool, Trinity College, Innis College and Woodsworth College at the University of Toronto, University of Toronto Schools amongst others. We are also currently collaborating on a research study with the Eureka Research Institute, Innovation and Community health leads at University of Toronto Schools (UTS) on an early animal assisted small group intervention to improve student awareness, engagement and comfort accessing community health support services.
Our missions are:
Our vision is for a world that cares for the interconnected health and well-being of people, animals and our planet.
One Health Partners is founded by Heidi Libesman, a graduate of Harvard Law School, former commonwealth scholar, lover of life but especially people and dogs, cultivator of humanity, life-long learner, questioner, thinker and carer of people, animals and our planet. Please feel welcome to reach out to Heidi on LinkedIn to connect.

One Health Day is coming up on the 3rd Nov and International Human-Animal Bond Day on the 8th Nov. Check out our collab with Indigenous artist Caitlin Wemigwans at www.preandperi.ca. We have created a Pre & Peri One Health Partners collection around the theme "We Are All Related". Download Glenn Morrison, Better Together from your favourite music streaming app. The song is a celebration of the human-animal bond and the product of a collaboration between multi platinum award winning composer and musician, Glenn Morrisson and Heidi Libesman, founder of OHP. Vocalists are Josh Sahunta and Kat Johnson. Heartfelt thanks also to Canada Pooch who sponsor our therapy dog bandanas and help to ensure that our therapy dog program is not only standard bearing but stylish. There are many other partners and people not mentioned on this landing page who we look forward to introducing when our website is launched.
In the meantime thank you for visiting our landing page which we hope provides a glimpse into the work and worlds of possibility, care and repair that One Health Partners is dedicated to contributing.
